The individual in this role is a subject matter expert of optical and dimensional measurement equipment and the test methods for QC lab.

The individual will apply his expertise to develop an understanding of the factors contributing to measurement variability within the QC Lab.

They will be responsible for developing an equipment PM and tool matching strategy for lab metrology equipment that will reduce overall variation and increase equipment utilization.

They will develop a robust control system for the lab that will include the trending and monitoring of key process and machine inputs and outputs and develop appropriate out of control action plans (OCAP's).

They are the expert on what the metrology capability is per product type.

The person will have a good knowledge of SPC, process capability indices and data analytics.

They will work with the Global Metrology Group on the upgrade to existing equipment as well as the installation and qualifaction of new equipment in the QC group. They will be familiar with cGMP and IQ/OQ/PQ protocol development and execution

The individual will consult for quality engineering teams as a measurement subject matter expert for investigations.

Adheres to safety policy, environmental policy, ergonomics and hazardous energy control procedures, and supports department environmental objectives.

BS in Optics, Physics, Engineering or equivalent technical degree required. 6-8+ year of work experience in the field.

 

Prior experience and training in medical device quality systems is preferred.
