JOB OVERVIEW 

Description

PURPOSE: 

  • This job description covers the knowledge, skills & abilities for the MD&D Supply Chain Maximo Software Platform Project Manager position. It includes the following levels: Contractor 
  • The Maximo Technician Contractor is responsible for: 
    1. Functioning as the primary point of contact and overall leader of the MD&D Maximo software platform used for the tracking company owned assets that reside at external supplier sites. Responsibilities include the continued deployment of the software platform across MD&D, the validation and expansion of the data within the system, the development of processes and procedures for use of the system and capturing new assets, and the interaction with MD&D suppliers, internal functional area contacts, and business leaders in support of these goals. 

EDUCATION / DEGREE REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree required. 
  • 9+ years of experience required. 
  • Project management experience required (ideally with a manufacturing background within the medical industry).

  • Software database, interfaces, and related processes and procedures. 
  • Previous Maximo experience is not required but would be a plus. 

JOB EXPERIENCE 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in manufacturing process development & providing ongoing technical support is preferred with evidence of continued self-development. 
  • An individual at this level will have sufficient experience & training to independently apply engineering principles, world class manufacturing techniques, analysis & judgment to resolve technical issues & develop software databases and related supporting processes. 
  • Only occasional guidance is needed by a more experienced engineer on unusual or especially difficult problem. 
  • The individual must have also demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, make effective management level presentations, write formal reports dealing with both technical & business implications & prepare project plans. 
  • A person in this position should have demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple team activities independently, demonstrated leadership capabilities, as well as ability to integrate cross-functional activities & apply broad business knowledge to set strategic direction. 
  • Training & experience in Good Manufacturing Practices & ISO 9000 is required. 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • POLICIES: Know & follow local policies & procedures and MD&D Supply Chain policies and procedures as related to work activities performed in area of responsibility. 
  • TRAINING: Complete training in area of responsibility within allowed time-period. Training is required for changes in existing policies & procedures, for new assignments & for implementation of new policies & procedures. Complete required periodic re-training in areas such as safety & environmental 
  • SAFETY: Follow all company safety policies & other safety precautions within work area. Promote safety to all associates that enter work area. 
  • Maximo Software Platform Project Manager 
    1. Actively participate in all other team activities contributing where required to other functional areas within team. 
    2. Actively lead/participate in quality function deployment, system design, Business Plan development & other team activities to help insure total team success. 
    3. Engage with suppliers regarding equipment specifics for collection of data, assessment of equipment condition, etc. 
    4. Ensure the wide variety of manufacturing assets are identified, assessed, incorporated and maintained within the Maximo system. 
    5. Determine key characteristics that define asset use, condition, and expected life. 
    6. Develop, design, validate & deploy an asset management system that provides proactive visibility to all company assets residing at suppliers for the purpose of preventing supply disruptions. 
    7. Provide all Maximo system specifications, user guides, and process documentation. 
    8. Work together with suppliers, Maximo system consultants, engineers, and other internal and external functional partners to achieve project goals and objectives. 
    9. Train other associate on the system, related processes, and other project details. 
    10. Using appropriate techniques develop and execute validation and verification protocols for any system or process changes or improvements. 
    11. Work with team leader to integrate cross-functional knowledge & broad business planning skills to establish project direction & overall business plan 
    12. Contribute to decision-making in all areas of project including financial, marketing, planning, quality & design 
    13. Assignments will typically be of moderate to high complexity & impact to organization 
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned & not all responsibilities listed may be assigned 

POST HIRE TRAINING PLAN REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Familiarization with Maximo system and outline of application and project goals for MD&D Supply Chain deployment and expansion of the system.
